Steak!

This picture is of the time I went camping with my friends and I ended up cooking steak for them, which somehow ended up being one of the best steaks they have eated according to what they said. For this steak if I remembered correctly I did not add too much stuff, and I only add black pepper, salt, and paprika. I also cooked it on a gas grill, which my friend brought for the trip, and I accidently dropped a steak on the ground before I put it on the grill. Although with the steak I dropped I simply washed it off the best I could a reseasond it and just did not tell my friends until after they ate it. The steak I feel now could have been made better, as although it was juicy and tender and had good flaver to it, what I would have wanted was a decent crust to the steak to add more texture to the steak, while still having the steak a juicy tender medium rare.

Hamburger Steak!

This is the time where I made hamburger steak, which is basically just a hamburger which is usually bigger than usual cooked as a steak. For this hamburger steak I followed a recipie on youtube about it and they added carrots to the hamburger, which I thought was very interesting and was an odd ingredient to add, but when I did add it and tried it out the carrot added an odd sweetness to the dish and added a new texture to the hamburger, which I quite liked. I also made a kind of sweet tomato sauce to this, which turned out quite well and tasty. For the sauce I lightly grilled over a stove some diced cherry tomatoes and added some sliced mushrooms along the way. After they have been cooked a bit I added ketchup, soy sauce, a splash of water, salt, and sugar and I mixed them together in the pan with a wooden spoon to avoid scratching the pan. I then turned off the heat and added some butter to emulsify the sauce. This I really enjoyed eating as this was quite tasty and I would love to try the recipe again, although I would have to find the recipe again if I were to make it.

The Smash Burger

This burger I remember clearly that I made it out of spite because someone ate my double quarter pounder from Mc Donalds, and I was really craving a burger, so I decided to just make one at home. This is called a smash burger because you make the paddy by having it as a round ball then placing it on a very hot pan you smash it down with a metal spatula until the paddy is no longer a ball and is now a thin paddy with a good sear on one side. This smash burger that I made was really nice to eat, as the bacon really added a nice crunch to the texture of the burger along with the freshly toasted burger buns I added to it. I also added some slices of tomatoes and slices of american cheese to the burger as seen in the photo, and I'm not to sure if it was on this burger, but I also made a homemade burger sauce for it. The sauce I made with ketchup, mayonaise, some mustard, diced pickles, and some diced grilled onions, and this sauce added a lot more flavor to the burger, which was just absolutely amazing.
